Enjoying the Crockpot.
July 21st 2008 12:52
As a stay-at-home-momma (SAHM) to a very busy five month old, I don't get to spend as much time as I'd like in my kitchen. This has turned my crockpot into one of my very best friends. I can make soup, roast, chicken, spaghetti ... All kinds of yummy goodness, with very little effort.
If you love a good roast, then you should enjoy this recipe.
You will need ...
1, two pound hunk of meat (whatever your preference, I use top loin)
3 beef buillion cubes, smashed
3 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons Lawry's seasoning salt
3 tablespoons Mrs. Dash table sesasoning
pepper to taste
one medium sized onion, diced / OR one package of Lipton's Onion Soup mix
new red potatoes, quartered, skin on (about 1/2 pound)
1 cup olive oil
Rub down the meat with the bullion cubes, garlic powder, seasoning salt, Mrs. Dash, and pepper. Lay in the bottom of the crockpot. Add onion/onion soup mix, potatoes, and olive oil. Add water until liquid covers the roast. Cook on high for four hours, or low for eight.
Tasty, easy, and it falls apart when you cut into it. You can add carrots as you'd like - my husband refuses to touch carrots, so I always leave them out. Either way, it's super yummy and I've never had a complaint (yet, anyway)!
Tomorrow, return for my pork tenderloin recipe. (Yes, you can start drooling now.)
Always,
Katie
